FAQ
Is my zip uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser — your files and password never leave your device, and nothing is sent to a server. (Only the zip engine code is downloaded.)
How strong is the encryption?
AES-256 — real, strong encryption. To open a protected zip, the recipient needs a tool that supports AES zips: 7-Zip, Keka, The Unarchiver, or Windows 11. The built-in macOS Archive Utility cannot open AES zips.
Can you remove a password I forgot?
No. Removing a password requires the password you already know — this is real encryption, not a cracker. If you have lost the password, it cannot be recovered.
Does it cost anything?
No — it is completely free, no signup.
